Couple's Career Highlights
Tomas and JT met in 2005 at Dance New York and after a month long “practice/tryout”, decided to compete together at the start of 2006. They had a great team of coaches to work with led by Edward Simon and a fresh look in costuming created by LeNique that set them apart from the rest of the pack. By the end of 2006, they had already broken in to the final of Ohio Star Ball. The next year was even more exciting as there were lots of changes with the other couples in the final. The pressure was on and competition became fierce.
Tomas and JT kept their cool and were one of the couples leading this group. The night of the US Championships, the energy was vibrating in the ballroom. Every couple was there to win. Tomas and JT were honored that September to become the 2007 US American Ballroom Champions. Since then, they have been undefeated in the American Smooth division. In November of 2007, one year after they became finalists at the Ohio Star Ball, they also became World American Ballroom Champions. They are thankful for the support of all their fans and continue to compete and perform around the country.
